AP0 Building Air Unit (AH3)

From time to time, FESS needs to shut off the AP0 Building Air Unit (AH3) to perform maintenance.  The Air handling units at AP0 are tied into the firus alarm system.  Dispatch will receive a “utility alarm’ indication at their console, as will the MCR.

Before allowing any fans to be shut off at AP0, the following notifications need to be made:

1.         Notify the MCR crew chief

2.         Notify dispatch x3414 and tell her they will be getting a “utility alarm”

3.         Notify Cedric Madison.  Cedric is the FESS engineer overseeing the air units at AP0.  His LRP is 218-8102, x5190.

We should NOT allow the fans to be turned off when we are stacking or otherwise running beam.  FESS needs to plan their PM work to occur during shutdowns.

Water Cage Air Units

There are 3 AHU inside the water cage region on the south half.  FESS does PM on these units.  As usual, FESS needs to plan ahead and coordinate their desired access time with Rad Safety.  They cannot access the water cage when we are stacking.  Beam needs to be off through the region.  We can let one of the pbar MS support people (call Chris Kelly x6801) get the water cage key and have them let FESS in through the south chain link gate.  FESS needs to wear protective clothing (booties, gloves, lab coat/coveralls).
